Turf Fungus & Diseases: Summer Patch

Summer patch targets Kentucky Bluegrass, Annual Bluegrass and Fescue's. The disease appears during summer, root and crown rot is caused to the plant. The disease begins as small ringed-patches which can be as large as 12 inches with unaffected turf in the center.

Areas that are in full sun tend to be susceptible to summer patch due to being in a stressful environment. As temperatures begin to cool, the lawn recovers but may be re infected at a later time.
